Mundis Vastus is a persistent dark-fantasy roleplaying game where freedom carries consequences.
Create a character, enter an original world of rival gods, dangerous patrons, political factions, forgotten kingdoms, and ancient powers, then describe what you attempt. Investigate, negotiate, deceive, fight, pray, bargain, retreat, or pursue a path the game never explicitly offered.
There are no narrow dialogue trees—but there are rules.
Beneath the responsive narration, Mundis Vastus tracks character statistics, combat, spells, equipment, advancement, tasks, relationships, faction reputation, obligations, injuries, and the changing state of the world. The narrative can adapt to unexpected choices without abandoning the mechanics that give those choices weight.
Characters remember how you treated them. Enemies may return. Completed tasks remain part of your Chronicle. Factions respond to your reputation, while oaths, debts, and bargains can follow you far beyond the moment in which they were made.
Some events may also enter the shared Chronicle of the World, allowing the setting’s history to grow through the deeds of those who play within it.
The world does not reset itself simply because a scene has ended.
Magic in Mundis Vastus is not separate from the world’s beliefs and conflicts. Clerics serve gods with their own expectations. Paladins bind themselves through oaths. Warlocks gain power through patrons whose gifts may deepen into influence, dependence, and consequence.
Every class has strengths, but power is rarely without obligation.
Death in Mundis Vastus is permanent.
When a character dies under the game’s rules, that Chronicle ends. There is no resurrection, no reloading an earlier decision, and no guarantee that an unfinished task will ever be completed.
The character’s story is not erased. Their completed Chronicle remains preserved in the player’s Hall of the Fallen: a record of what they attempted, what they changed, and where their journey ended.
Victories matter because failure is possible. Survival matters because it is never promised.
Generative AI helps Mundis Vastus respond to freeform player actions and narrate situations that were not written in advance. It does not replace the game’s authored setting or mechanical foundation.
The lore, classes, cosmology, rules, combat systems, persistence, and world structure provide the boundaries within which the narrative lives. The result is not a blank storytelling chatbot, but a roleplaying game designed to remain coherent, dangerous, and true to its world.
Mundis Vastus is made for players who enjoy tabletop roleplaying, interactive fiction, dark fantasy, character building, emergent stories, and decisions that cannot always be undone.
You are free to attempt anything.
The world is free to answer.
